A Riverside Retreat in the Heart of Fukuoka
Nestled along the serene banks of the Nakasu in Fukuoka, TOFFEE park offers a unique blend of traditional Japanese ingredients and modern café culture. This charming soy café and bar is a must-visit for travelers seeking a tranquil spot to unwind while savoring innovative, health-conscious treats.
The Story Behind TOFFEE park

Opened in August 2019, TOFFEE park is the brainchild of Mihara Foods, a renowned tofu producer in Saga Prefecture. Mihara Foods was born in 1959. The name “TOFFEE” cleverly combines “tofu” and “coffee“, reflecting the café’s commitment to crafting delightful offerings centered around soy-based ingredients. Situated within the Hareno Garden complex in Tenjin Central Park, the café provides a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city.
The pursuit of materials and production methods
“TOFFEE park” uses tofu and soy milk produced by Mihara Foods. The soy milk is made using a special process that removes all the skin from the soybeans, and the water from Kashima – Saga Prefecture – is purified twice before being strained. This process brings out the natural flavor and sweetness of the soybeans, resulting in a rich, creamy taste.
Indulge in Soy-Based Delights

TOFFEE park’s menu showcases a variety of soy-infused beverages and desserts that cater to both health enthusiasts and curious foodies. Signature drinks include the “Soy Latte”, a rich blend of soy milk and espresso, and “Vanilla Soy Latte”, praised for its creamy and flavorful profile. For those with a sweet tooth, the café offers delectable treats like soy milk donuts, soy cheesecake, and tofu-based chocolate ganache in unique flavors such as roasted green tea and pistachio.
A Picturesque Setting

The café’s minimalist, industrial-chic interior provides a cozy atmosphere, while the outdoor terrace seating offers stunning views of the Nakasu. Whether you’re enjoying a morning latte or an evening drink, the riverside ambiance, especially at night with the city lights reflecting on the water, creates a memorable experience.

Personal Notes

- Vanilla Soy Latte: I tried Vanilla Soy Latte, which was a latte with a strong soy milk flavor and a hint of vanilla. To be honest, I could not tell a definite difference from other soy lattes, but it is a good place to take a break while enjoying the view of the river and buildings in the center of Fukuoka!
- Soy Sweets: I was planning to try the Tiramisu in a tofu packet as it is very popular, but it seems to be an autumn/winter only item and was not on the menu when I went… The sweets menu seems to change with the seasons.
